To maximise this lifespan, we recommend a “dual-layer” application consisting of a dense base course followed by a high-quality wearing course. Regular maintenance, such as surface dressing every few years, can extend this even further by protecting the bitumen from oxidation and frost damage.
Can you lay new tarmac over an existing driveway?
Yes, this is known as resurfacing or an overlay.This is a highly cost-effective way to refresh your driveway, provided the original foundation is still structurally sound.
